We are pleased to announce that the project “Transforming Pella’s Central Administration Building into a Near-Zero Energy Landmark with the New European Bauhaus Principles” has been selected to be presented at the international conference “Reconstructing the Future”, organised within the BAUHAUS4MED Project framework. The conference will take place in Florence on 14–15 May 2026!

The conference focuses on emerging trends within the New European Bauhaus (NEB) framework, with particular emphasis on Mediterranean research and practices that redefine how we design, renovate, and experience our built environment. It aims to bring together researchers, practitioners, public authorities, civil society actors, and creative communities to explore innovative urban environments, participatory models, and spatial interpretations of NEB principles.

Our submitted contribution presents the radical energy upgrade of the central municipal building of Pella as a flagship example of how public administration spaces can evolve into climate-neutral, aesthetically enhanced, and socially inclusive infrastructures. The project demonstrates how Near-Zero Energy Building (nZEB) standards, bioclimatic design strategies, renewable energy integration, and high-quality architectural interventions can transform an existing public building into a lighthouse of sustainable transition in Northern Greece.

Being selected for this conference means that our vision will be part of a wider European conversation on how cities can rebuild public spaces that are greener, more beautiful, and truly designed for people.
